Prominent jockey Clint Harvey and racehorse owner Ron Beacham have found themselves in trouble over a game of pool that turned nasty in Kalgoorlie yesterday after the Boulder Cup meeting was abandoned.

One man was injured when a glass was smashed over his head and had to be taken to hospital.

Harvey and Beacham will face court on Thursday and several jockeys who were present at the Exchange Hotel remained in Kalgoorlie to be questioned.

Speaking of the pair, Double Barrel looks extremely well in at the weights as well for the cup on Saturday.

Let's hope he does not get "snookered" and the Jockey has to fight his way out of a pocket.

Both Beacham and Harvey pleaded not guilty in court and released on bail.

Did anyone actually see if the old fella was still throwing them alright?
good to hear that he was released on bail must be shaking his head about getting caught up in this.

Fair enough, apologies for the obscene language, let me try without it...

Breaka, anyone smashing a glass over someone else's face is hardly just "defending themselves". I hope they don't get off the charge (whoever that was), and get what any insipid human being doing such an appalling act deserves, jail time.

See how "tough" they are then.

Nobody was hit over the head with a glass.....

Don't believe everything you read in a newspaper mate!!

It was an argument that turned into a scuffle. No jail time needed. That's just stupid talk...

I think we should wait for the facts to emerge from the court case on this one. I also have heard conflicting stories about the incident.

I've heard a bit also...and as much as i like to gossip and fill in the gaps..I sort of wish this thread wasn't here...But understand why everyone has an opinion. Both the situation and the outcome, wont be good for anyone..IMO

No jockey had a pool cue or a glass dungy... A scuffle, like I said. It happens in every pub at some stage.

Nothing will happen to these jocks involved. Been blown out of proportion.. Again.

    Stupid comment dungy.

with all the media coverage on king hits and glass attacks, if the "scuffle" did include a glass, i'd hate to be in harvey's shoes.

depends on who was holding it and how it got broken...don’t forget that there were several licensed people in the bar and it will be interesting to see what the RWWA stewards do to all of them after this situation has been dealt with by the courts. Not suggesting that anything should or will happen to them, but that is what may have the biggest impact on these peoples activities in the industry for the future.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
