What about Dawn Raider at Narrogin? It lost the race despite coming from behind and bolting in.
What i'm saying is, deciding the result of a protest, and deciding whether a jockey caused interference or not are by no means the same thing.
and if you watch a replay again you will know why
I was sitting in the grandstand and honestly it was very hard to see the horses when they were in the straight until they were right in front of you
Trainer Ms K. Davis was advised that the gelding would not be permitted to race at Saturday prime Metropolitan meetings until it shows an improvement in its form.
There were then 2 further runners, Darkriver Doll and Danelez, that were also given the same rites. While I agree with these 2, I have seen plenty that have been much less competitive than Esroh who are continually allowed to go around in similar events. I reckon you could find 10-15 runners a meeting. While I am all for uncompetitive types not being allowed to race at these meetings, I wouldn't have thought this was a prime example.
i had a chuckle when i read that about esroh.
the top weight gets its marching orders.
the problem for this horse is its rating is too high, so that there are bugger all options for it.
the lowest class at p1 or city midweek is mostly a rb72 and that is all it's eligible for, so its got to head way out woop woop or toss it in.
also what rating would it get for the country? another thing wrong with having 2 ratings.....how do connections figure what weight it gets????
let alone people like me that are very interested in handicapping.
ratings WERE a good way of having transparency in handicapping, but that is no longer the case with this city /country nonsense.
There are definitely plenty of horses running weekly in races that they shouldn't even be allowed to run in once, let alone continually, who don't get barred.
And there are plenty of horses who should never be allowed to run in feature races but they do... so that its a good field size and then there is more punting $.... but what about the connections of the horses who SHOULD be in the race who have to navigate their way around these crabs or cop trouble in the run when that horse can't run the last 600m in less than 39 seconds and they drop back through the field? Too bad, they'll always get a run.
Not having a go at this bloke, just using as a precedent, HTF can Esroh cop that treatment in reference to this record which was seemingly unchecked for numerous gallopers
