All horses that race in HK are owned by members of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. The horses can be bred anywhere. Like Japan, it (ownership) is very elite. The exception are international Group races where overseas horses and owners can race. December …

No, but they shouldn't have dropped him points given the guidelines (first-up and issues). So in the record books he should be rated at his peak. For prosperity.
-
Shame they took a point or two off him. Hope they strike that rating drop off the records. A champion bows out.
-
The Express Service and Barakey rating drops are totally against the guidelines IMHO.
-
Obviously this is a concern; • If the horse is racing at their first or second start back from a spell. The "may" covers an arse or two.

MeTROPOLITAN PRIMe MeeTINGS The average penalty for Saturday metropolitan races is 2kg to 2.5kg when going into a similar standard of race at their next race. For instance, if a horse wins a metropolitan 72+ race with 56kg…

I'm sure there are guidelines. I will try to find them. If I'm not back in two days, send help.

Now I'm concerned. How can you drop a horse that was first-up and had issues? Was anything in the Stewards report? If so, he shouldn't be dropped any points.

You would think the handicapper has a "benchmark" in the race of a horse or horses that ran to it's rating weight. So not Barakey as he was well below par. So Shining Light and Rock Magic. Given Shining Light carried the same weight, they might give…
-
I believe they left out a 3-year-old allowance (but added later) of 1.5kg but below are the advertised weights. So obviously Barakey "snuck" in with only one win with the cheque over 80k but less than 150k. A top 3-year-old might have got in OK at t…

More Jesus like.

My original point was that it is pretty rich using a public forum about a tender process and then suggesting he was "gagged". My second point is pretty much just Damien bashing for having an over-inflated opinion of himself.

"It is hard enough to come up with fresh content. From a photography standpoint, it is well documented that photo's are stolen, creative ideas are pinched and usually with little reference to the creator." I agree. From what I have seen, plenty of o…

"Having recently tried to have a discussion about a Tender I just laughed at the arrogance and stupidity of what I was trying to have shoved down my throat as the rules." So what exactly was the discussion about?
-
IMHO, discussing a tender application on a forum suggests you won't and probably shouldn't get it. Again, just my opinion.

"...but Judd to his credit made sure West Coast ended up getting a fair trade." Apologies. I agree the Eagles did well on the deal but reading between your lines it read that Judd had something to do with the deal. So tell me AFL accredited journo,…

Not a great start. Hope his shoulder is OK.

He looks to have a terrific book of rides for his first weekend. Hope he goes well.

No he didn't.

"Without the vast media exposure none of the overpaid primadonna's and coaches…" I'm with Carlosa. One of Mick's beef was with the ineptitude (from accredited numbers) of journalists. I never agreed with him (Mick) until right about now. "...but J…

A quick glance at the two-year-old programme in Victoria has no 1600m races. 1400m maximum and later in the season. It was only a quick glance so don't shoot the messenger but if a two-year-old is looking for a mile in April, you would imagine it is…

What I was saying Ngawyni, is that it is a rare occurrence that the handicapped weights are incorrect. So I was looking for a rule/reg/condition that stated that 3YO fillies get a 1kg allowance in this supposedly handicap race. I can't find one and …

Good point Carey. Sheidel is incorrectly handicapped on Saturday. In saying that, the umpire (slash handicapper) is usually right.

I think you have it arse-about. If you build it, they will come (apologies to Kev). The good horses used to come here. You need them back and races at the moment don't warrant the good one's.

I think I met the girl in the black hat (with the guy with a beard in two selfies). Make sure you read the hashtags when you hover on the photo. http://www.perthracing.org.au/news-centre/news/2015/04/11/a-look-at-schweppes-watc-derby-day-through-soc…

I thought the Autumn Carnival was a a success. True, I didn't know it was an Autumn Carnival - or any carnival for that matter - but I did read that Derby Day was the last day of said carnival and it was a success. There was a girl near the bookies …

I could pick my nose yesterday. It bled. I'm out for 3 months.

Picture this. Malthouse plays his only card (longest serving coach in VFL/AFL history) to push a contract extension. His bluff is called by Carlton (I think round seven he breaks record??) and they sack him short of the record. Everyone's a winner.
