The Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board has suspended trainer Michael Quadara and fined him over two separate incidents:

Seymour trainer Michael Quadara has been suspended and fined over two separate incidents by the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board.

He was suspended for two months for striking a horse he trains, Manhattan Sparkle, and fined $500 on a misconduct and/or improper conduct charge for comments made regarding another horse in his care Rajapakse.

Quadara pleaded not guilty to a charge from Racing Victoria stewards of entering a float carrying Manhattan Sparkle on Melbourne's Western Ring Road on the afternoon of September 1 last year and using his right hand to strike the horse on several occasions.

The RAD Board found him guilty and outed him for two months.

At Moonee Valley on November 17 last year he made comments to stewards following the performance of Rajapakse that constituted misconduct and/or improper conduct to which he pleaded guilty.

The RAD Board ruled the suspension to start on May 4 while Quadara was given 30 days to pay the $500 fine.

Does the RSPCA become involved in this considering the stringent whip rules in place today to minimise harm to the animal
If not it's my view every act of animal cruelty should be scrutinised

To hit a horse (particularly around the head) isn't nice, but when done in front of officials it's about as smart as Nash Rawiller's tipping hotline. Got off lightly. Very lightly.

As for the swearing, if it was directed at the official, the fine is understandable. If it's just general tantrum throwing, forget it.

I'm still wondering why Steele Casey's horses were scratched last week. Punters shouldn't have to rely on rumours, particularly if we're interested in back those horses this week.
    Greater transparency is desperately needed.

Now, where's that Schreck report on intergity again?

39% winning strike rate this season is pretty good for a trainer on his L plates. Career stats: 15 winners from 44 starters
