Looks a good night for various 1 and 10 horses. Jambiani looks set for a soft run too from 10. Argyle Red from the eleven also looks overs @$13 in early markets. Don't Wanna Die and Bungalow Bill looks a good 1,10 combo too. How many times has Libertybelle Midfrew drawn the 1 or 2 lately?!! She will be hard to beat again.

Some of LBM's favourable barriers have been in PBD with mares favoured, however tonight's is an RBD and she got lucky....and Bettors Fire got unlucky!!!

As an aside, Nathan Purdon fined $500 for the Ohoka Punter drive in the VHRC Classic at Melton the other week......basically for not being aware of a change in the driving tactics of Stunning Grin. That being, that Stunning Grn was to be driven less aggressively....thus they walked around at snail's pace for the first lap and a half...did he dodge a bullet....maybe, maybe not.

    From MG

Storm chief-looks to be pace early, hopefully can be midfield and have a sting at them late when his great turn of foot e/w.

Say it now-will come out early n see what happens if I crossed the one I'd hold the top n would run a good race.

Bounty eyre-he is in great form ATM, I'm not sure what G&S Bond will
want to do I think we would slide forward and even breeze or slot in.

Back on board-has finally got a draw n will be set to use it tonight.
Speed inside n outside us but will weigh it up to wether I can drop in.

Icy grin- won well last start, from the wide gate will just keep
pressing forward as he loves to roll n hopefully there at the finish e/w.

Very lucky indeed Jayjay. Even without knowing about the tactic change he still should have put the acid on stunning grin and run to the lead.

I note with interest that the horse is still owned by tony herlihy and anthony butt is driving him in the maryborough cup on sunday. Would love to know if he sacked himself or the owners pulled rank and said see ya later mate.

He will be hard to beat with A Butt driving him.

The old 1,10..1,10 combo in the first. Shannon Suvaljko cruising and smoking the pipe. The Storm Chief unlucky...again.

The Storm Chief gets 3rd and I queue up to collect the trifecta but ......I don't know the horse all that well, maybe he needs to be held up for one last crack........which he most certainly was. I have to say I am no fan of this style of flailing about, lieing out the back of the cart with loose reins etc in the so called USA style. It is far removed from Tim Tetrick who it is apparently modeled on and Chris Lewis seems to have gone okay with his 4950 wins sitting conventionally. I had reserved commenting on it for a while but after watching, not for mine. To each his own.

Breeding Footnote: Aereus Maximus has a famous ....and I mean seriously famous brother......the grey's dam Flipside was a not so talented trotting mare with a 2.7.8 TT but the only other foal from Flipside is the winner of 41 from 61 starts with a 1.53.7 record, has won over a million bucks in stakemoney.....and is the almost unbeatable brilliant square gaiter  Keystone Del. Another useless piece of trivia, I think I need a life!!!! Another perfect piece of driving from SJS.

Overboard Again and King Lebron both tough efforts...Argyle Red very well driven to run 3rd.

Hidden Bad! Finally I get a decent collect, seems like a life time since i've had one haha.

First four players take 11 Tajies Girl and 12 Znana, wouldn't surprise me if he gets off on the 10 in the last lap and they drive up under him and he ends up held up as they run past.

I'm not completely convinced by the driving technique either, watching last night when he was on Padabing Stride it certainly didnt look good.

What I do like though is that he's giving them their chance. I reckon more than half the drivers in WA wouldn't have even tried to cross Major Catastrophe purely because if its place in the market but he did his form and had a crack.

Yes Gil, not questioning his positioning or the obvious zeal and enthusiasm he has, definitely has a go, doesn't always work out (does it ever?) but you generally don't die wondering. But I think he over does the hanging out the back of the cart bit and doesn't have total control at times. The Bucket List behind Liberty Belle the other night was all over the shop and did well to stay in its gear, at least that is what it looked like to me. But wouldn't want to discourage obvious talent, maybe just tidy it up a bit.

Just a wonderful drive on LBM, maybe Runoneover a run short but the mare is tough, is in rare form and is banking some very nice dollars. Draw of course definitely helped but its a good training performance as well.

With two Hall runners breathing down her neck she knew she was in a race...got the draw was favourite but still a gutsy effort.

Chris Lewis used all his guile and nous to stay glued to the pegs to run a good third. Just kept sneaking through. Bill Horn and Lewis combination...not bad either through the ages.

Lewis did fantastic to fet the horse up inside the leader into 3rd. Shame he stayed off the fence the start prior or he could have done the same thing, they are all human i guess. Heez On Fire banks a bit more cash and hopefully moves up a couple more spots on the back of another nice soft run.

Of course there all human...anybody expecting Lewis or Grantham or Suvaljko or Hall Jnr. to drive the perfect race all the time..might as well not punt..its no different to De Villiers or Steve Smith making a duck or Hazlewood and Steyn not taking a wicket or Ablett and Dangerfield having a bad game...it happens.

Tanaka bloody Eagle...my word, humble pie for me. Will it tighten up his Inters ranking? Reg will be performing hand stands, good on him, one of the real battlers.

Freddy the blind miner could see those three favourites after they put the heat on we're going to be in big big trouble, trying to beat each other..they beat themselves. Marvellous how often it happens. Superimposed $1.01 fixed odds place. :-j

Another carve up from Warwick on an odds on fave. Good luck to the punters who continue to back him at short odds. Enjoy the baked beans.......

Interesting to see how it performs given that it was conceived by surrogacy before she had too much hard racing.
