They are just terrible. No run, no plan, no idea.

Paying that much for Naitanui was questionable, but after today it is a joke. The guy is just lazy.

    Didn't get to watch the game as mrs notapunta wanted to go have lunch at a vegan, hippy, raw food place. Had a cold broccoli pizza.Still enjoyed it more than my eagles this season :-((

    agree 100% damien, nic nat is over-rated and over paid.

    if it wasn't for his, err, physical appearance, he'd just be another player.

    bet his team mates are pissed off with the deal he got.

    the club itself has to take a long, long look.

    In fairness to Nic Nat, his last 2 games have been alot lot better
    And lets remember he is still very young, the price paid yep maybe a bit overpaid but the kid can and will become a superstar

    Ruckman dont really start to become really good until they are in their mid 20's
    Look at Dean Cox, when he first came to the club he was useless, Now when he retires he will be the best ruckman of my era

    That is very true Bondy. Cox was decent at East Perth and took years of learning and waiting under Gardnier. Once he established himself he become one of the best.

    Good thing for Cox was that he had Turnbull at East Perth and Gardnier at West Coast to learn from. Good schooling there.

    Nic Nat could be Polly reincarnated, with the midfield you got ur gonna be bottom 10 for many years to come. Three first rounders Masten Gaff and Shepherd all busts

    I agree, the midfield def needs an uplift, some pace and some brute force
    Defence wise, i think we are quite strong. Mackenzie one of best FB in the game atm, chuck in glass,hurn,brown,bennell is quite good
    And fwd when they fire darling,kennedy and lecras are lethal

    Bondy think your being to kind to your eagles. Defence very shoddy. Mackenzie ok with glass there not so good without. Probably glass's last season, brown is overrated , Hurn attack wise is good defence not as much, Bennell been good this season, schofield ordinary Spangler looked better than him and the eagles cut him long ago. Midfield is dead set ordinary. Priddis gives every week, selwood , gaff, masten, schuey, rosa, wellingham, Ellis are a ordinary lot not 1 of them would get a game at hawthorn, Geelong or Sydney. Forward line is decent but delivery and supply not upto scratch. McGovern looks a find. Cox looks close to the end and nic nat we'll certainly over paid and hyped but just plain lazy and unfit.

    Their last 2 weeks ill admit and agree have been very weak, but if you look at the games against freo,port,carlton and collingwood, we were in winning positions and should of won.
    So at their best they can compete against the good sides, they just have to find that key to get those wins and become more consistent

    Why do people keep saying this, other than the odd high leap, a quick sprint, he has yet to confirm to me he will. A workmanlike performance like a Lobbe or a Stefan Martin tonight for Brisbane is far more valuable to a team than a rrare highlights package player.

    Not as funny as your tipping ability, fair dinkum you would have more tips if you tried to tip the losers...

    re: Sheppard he has actually been very good this year.

    Yes the midfield is a joke and therefore reverberates throughout the whole team and game style, but we get a chance to rebuild with Sheed, Waterman and Matera next few years.

    Masten was the best available from a rubbish draft, hell we could have drafted Palmer or Morton.

    Bit harsh on gaff.

    Wellingham is a waste of space.

    Priddis would be okay in a good midfield but a massive liability in a **** one.

    Selwood is the worst user of the ball in the league.

    But there is some talent on the list, just need some clever list management over the next few years to polish the poo into gold.

    I like the way his eyes dart around, looking to see who is staring at him during breaks. He walks off looking like someone who is hiding and knows that it is only a matter of time until he is found.

    Next week at home could be humiliating for all you Eagles fans. Losing to the Gold Coast ?

    Nick is the least of their problems thought he was reasonable yesterday have a look at some of the other ruckmen around the league alot of them do little more than goalposts.

    As said would be looking at the recruiting seem to find good talls Mcgovern another one now wish he was a Docker but their midfield selections huge miss how did Sheppard go top 10? Also Sheed looks like he will be a good player but he is the same model as the rest of them.No line breakers amongst they will have to trade someof them Shuey the only one and struggles with tagggers.

    The are a an average unit and will be for a long, long time midfield is ****,Cox needs to wake up to himself and forget 300 he is finished ,Nic Nat ,,, well he is Nic Nat ,

    thats the problem you THINK he is the number 1 ruckman going around ,what a crock of crap number 1 ruckman in the comp my ass did he get All Aust last year ??? wont get it this year and shouldnt have got 2 years ago ,,, nothing like dreaming

    IF they get him fit, and I mean real fit, i can understand the NaitanuI deal. For that coin you want your man at every contest.

    I'd wager that they cant though, just isnt an endurance athlete.

    Sheppard has been ok loose at half back - You dont draft flaky half backs in ya first round.. Next stop is tagging like Mitch Wallis and trying to claim that is a win

    Gaff has a lot of Shaun Grigg about him these days

    Shep has been one of our best this year, giving us run and polish off half back.

    Gaff is an outside runner, has actually been very good last weeks after a poor start to the season, Grigg is a good example of the type of player he is, as is K Simpson, the biggest knock is his lack of strength in the contest so I think he will take a few years to reach his physical peak.

    Cox is gone, wont see out the season and shouldnt be with Sinclair and Lycett dominating the WAFL, 6 goals in 12 games as a 50% forward is terrible, can't get over the ground anymore, massive liability. If we lose Lycett back to SA because of lack of opportunities I will be p1ssed,.

    NicNat had zero pre-season, people just dont understand how limiting that is at the top level. He has been pretty good last few weeks, judge him on second half of year.

    Love how McLovin goes about it, hopefuly he finally gets a good go at it.

    I get it, he is overrated not by his own doing but also by gooses like Gerard Healey who pick AA sides.

    The AA side is just some peoples opinion, how can he be AA Ruckmen when Cox was WCE No1 ruckman that year is beyond comprehension to someone who looks at football in a non club perspectives which you don't , but I do respect that you do have a pretty good knowledge of the game, but your Blue/Gold blurs you sometimes

    Liked what I saw yesterday, but I think Dermie was critical; he does not chase back the other way, which is hard to see when watching on TV is actually the case, as Dermie just talks to talk sometimes

    Would swap Mcgovern for any of our young talls no problem. Occy as for Sheppard he has become a handy half back but not better than Clancee Pearce who couldnt get a game yesterday and was off rookie list just cant see what they were thinking when they drafted him so high?
