2 TARZI 6 59 105 STEVEN PARNHAM NEVILLE PARNHAM
3 FOREST FROLIC 5 59 98 PETER HALL JACK COCKELL
4 GREAT DESTINY 4 59 87 ALAN KENNEDY ADAM DURRANT
5 LAMBTON CASTLE 3 59 89 LINK ROBERTSON LINDSEY SMITH
6 CALLER ONE 1 59 78 PATRICK CARBERY NEVILLE PARNHAM
7 STAR ENCOUNTER 2 57 94 WILLIAM PIKE ADAM DURRANT

Looks to be a good rematch between Tarzi and Marasco over the longer journey, can somethng upset those two? Great Destiny, Caller One and Star Encounter are in form.

Comments

  • Marasco is unbeaten his last two preps second up albeit over 1400m and that stat wont change after Saturday, look for the same result in the Lee Steere with Tarzi followed...
Great Destiny backs up from last week and drops to 1800 (no thanks!) Lambton Castle fresh dropping back to 1800 after his Pinjarra Cup run could fill a place (was kept fresh in dec when Harvey rode him and beat Gambero over 1800) looks well placed
Caller One is a miler unsure over 1800 but you just never know with Mr Parnham...?
and Star Encounter is in with a shout and a definite top 3/4 chance with LC

Forwhatever reason, don't think recovery of runners in Perth cup has been great. Might have ruined a few?

I know Exhilirating appears to have gone ok, but IMHO there's a big big gap between Perth Cup 4th and gettign rolled by Wicklow Hills.

Lovre and Lambton have both been terrible since. I can't see this being any different for the Lamb?

after LAMBTON CASTLE gets up we will go from the PUBLIC BAR 2 the SALOON BAR 2the LOUNGE BAR 2the BOTTLE SHOP
  • After the Railway failure i thought F R K said that Marasco would only be trained as a sprinter now second up 1800m what is going on.No wonder this horse has never reached his full potential.

you blokes can have all the 1.60 you want about the mighty M but if it gets a bit tough and turns into a dour staying event then Marasco want finish in the first 3 ,sprinter as simple as that ,and as for FRK saying he will keep him to the sprints well he doesnt know if he is coming or going

    I'm with you there dungy!

$1.60, not a chance in hell - Marasco and Tarzi are very even in my books, not 3 points apart.

I think you'll get $2.50 Marasco and $3.00 Tarzi come Saturday at best! There won't be 3 points seperating them!

Those odds do seem closer to the mark, probably closer to $2 and $4

The big gap between them will be when they finish, not when they start.

I have Marasco and Tarzi equally on top, with 2 lengths or more back to all the others.

I wonder if Forest Frolic will try the rails run again?

I reckon its the fittest horse in the race SE so if they bang away she could be a huge chance im on eway at the 9s Marasco should be hard to beat but dont no about the 1800m??? he will probably walk in ,lol lol

Marasco probably can win, what i dont understand is how this is a better option if they are going to brisbane via sydney with him for races of 1400,1200,1350...getting a feeling that is unlikely now

I agree, but I can also see the reasoning of winning this race over giving DV 6kgs and running 2nd in the sprint.

This race is worth a tad more, so even if Tarzi does get the win, he'll still earn more than in the Sprint.

He went from 1200m to 1800m last prep and only finished 3.5 lengths from the winner. And now with just six horses in the race and the outside draw - he should be able to sit just off them and push off around the outside (no blocking in the straight)

I think it is the best race to contest (to earn money wise) but I agree if going to NSW/Qld then the sprint may have been better.

M&P - It's the old wait and see mentality, if he wins FRK was right, if he doesn't, well?

Truth is though, the horse earns nearly 50k a start - so I guess we'll see if he wins more than his average tomorrow.

Yeah, he picked the best race for earnings and prestige - adds another group race to his mantle! And with barrier 6 and only 6 runners, was always going to be hard to toss.

Tarzi ran a superb race, finished off the last 200m very well - nice to add an extra string to the bow of Tarzi's arsenal!

I think he probably would have won the other race too in hindsight!

Without doubt! But that's hindsight for you! Can't knock FRK for doing what he did, might actually be good for him, I hope he goes to NSW/Qld - think the tracks would suit him!

i hope so too lucky..he is rising 7 and this is just about one last opportunity and he is well and in form,so im hoping they think why not have a crack(not confident they will though)spring is 6 months away and then he is 7 y.o..just my opinion although a few others share it i believe :D
