Race 1: Wittens Irrigation & Design Handicap (1400m)
This is a Class 3 contest where Hoya Destroyer looks the one to beat. He returns to the 1400m where he has a career record of one win and two seconds from four starts. His first-up run at Belmont was full of merit, flashing home for second after a slow beginning. He has a massive 71% career place rate and carries a manageable 59.5kg for Steven Parnham. Come On Emma is the obvious danger; she is the ultimate "on-speed" professional and rarely misses the frame (62% place rate). She’ll be the one Hoya Destroyer has to run down.
Recommended Bet: High (2 Units) - Hoya Destroyer ($2.90)
| Selection | Comment |
| Hoya Destroyer | Fitter for the first-up run and loves this trip. |
| Come On Emma | Will lead or sit outside lead; very hard to get past. |
Market (105%)
Hoya Destroyer: $2.80
Come On Emma: $4.00
Extreme Love: $7.50
Zorbrist: $8.50
Nickelplay: $15.00
Who Saz Yes: $26.00
Race 2: Drummond Golf Handicap (1400m)
Peaceful Ruler has done very little wrong in his three-start career. He showed great tenacity to win at Pinjarra Scarpside last time out over this distance and stays at the 1400m today. He’s on-speed and has the "winning habit." So Much Serenity is the main threat, especially with William Pike hopping aboard. She was a bit unlucky at Bunbury last start and the 1200m to 1400m step-up looks ideal.
Recommended Bet: Medium (1.5 Units) - Peaceful Ruler ($3.20)
| Selection | Comment |
| Peaceful Ruler | Tactical speed is a huge plus with the rail at +15m. |
| So Much Serenity | The "Pike Factor" and a favorable draw make her dangerous. |
Market (105%)
Peaceful Ruler: $3.00
So Much Serenity: $4.20
Playing Free: $6.00
Sky Poet: $7.00
Media Club: $12.00
Swift Talker: $15.00
Others: $31.00+
Race 3: MC Polytrack Maiden (1000m)
Maidens over the short course are always a bit of a lottery, but Afireofgidgeecoals should improve sharply. He was outclassed in a 2YO Sweepstake last start but his trial win prior was dominant. From barrier 2, he should be able to hold a prominent position. Divine Mirage is the saver here; she was brave at Bunbury when swamped late and will be rock-hard fit.
Recommended Bet: Bet (1 Unit) - Afireofgidgeecoals ($4.50)
Bomb: Flying Swagman ($12.00) - Sire Bivouac was a star, and this gelding won a Lark Hill trial in good style.
| Selection | Comment |
| Afireofgidgeecoals | Disregard the last start; the trials say he has wheels. |
| Divine Mirage | Professional type who will likely lead for a long way. |
Market (105%)
Divine Mirage: $3.80
Afireofgidgeecoals: $4.50
Flying Swagman: $7.00
Mr Kaplan: $8.50
Helluva Promise: $10.00
Others: $18.00+
Race 4: G&A Lombardi Pty Ltd Maiden (1500m)
Invasore is screaming out for a win. He has placed in 50% of his career starts and his last two efforts at Ascot and York were excellent. He "flew home" last start over 1200m, and the step up to 1500m looks like exactly what the trainer ordered. Newhaven Prince is the danger; he was arguably the run of the race at Belmont two starts back and looks a progressive type.
Recommended Bet: Medium (1.5 Units) - Invasore ($3.80)
| Selection | Comment |
| Invasore | Finally gets the trip he needs. Should be too strong late. |
| Newhaven Prince | Improving with every run and Jarrad Noske is a great booking. |
Market (105%)
Invasore: $3.50
Newhaven Prince: $4.40
Queen Selyse: $5.50
Bambun Girl: $8.00
Magic Carats: $12.00
Ginger Fizz: $21.00
Others: $41.00+
Race 5: Statewide Oil Handicap (1200m)
Tycoon Dreamer put the writing on the wall with a dominant win at Belmont two starts back and wasn't disgraced in Class 1 company last time. She gets the blinkers on today, which should sharpen her up even further. Earl It Is is the class danger. He’s consistent but tends to find one or two better on the day. With O’Donnell in the saddle, he’ll get every chance from the wide gate.
Recommended Bet: Bet (1 Unit) - Tycoon Dreamer ($4.20)
| Selection | Comment |
| Tycoon Dreamer | Blinkers on and Chris Parnham staying aboard are big signals. |
| Earl It Is | Hard to knock his recent form, but he’s a place-getter by trade. |
Market (105%)
Tycoon Dreamer: $4.00
Earl It Is: $4.80
Mr Kissinger: $6.00
Publicise: $7.00
Melody Fair: $8.50
Rosentrea: $15.00
Others: $31.00+
Race 6: Schweppes Handicap (1000m)
New Target has been a revelation this prep, winning his last two starts with real authority. He is 2 from 4 in his career and has tactical speed, which is gold today. Niccimota is the class factor here; she’s a "fifty-percenter" who has contested much harder races than this. The 2kg claim for Chanel Cooper brings her right into the weights.
Recommended Bet: High (2 Units) - New Target ($3.50)
| Selection | Comment |
| New Target | In winning form and handles the 1000m dash perfectly. |
| Niccimota | Down in grade and the claim makes her very well-weighted. |
Market (105%)
New Target: $3.20
Niccimota: $4.00
Spicy Thang: $5.50
So Immaculate: $7.00
Door Buster: $12.00
Soldier Of God: $21.00
Others: $51.00+

Race 7: Unite Resourcing Handicap (1600m)
We’ve saved the best for last. Miss Veuve looks the standout bet of the day. Her Techform rating is a perfect 100, and while she was slow away last start, her work late was excellent. She returns to the 1600m where she has a win and three seconds from five attempts. Productive is the saver; he’s a consistent type for the Pearce stable and will be in the firing line for a long time.
Recommended Bet: Best Bet (3 Units) - Miss Veuve ($3.80)
Market (105%)
Miss Veuve: $2.80
Productive: $4.50
Aitch Montana: $7.00
Tassort We Want: $9.00
Universal Impact: $13.00
Highly Spoken: $15.00
Others: $26.00+
