Hastie would be a good choice........Please let it be him..
    A full blown creationist.
Personally I think they need to get rid of the god botherers if they are to be a force again.
More decent women too, would no hurt.

Dont care anymore , all Parties hopeless with absolutely no ideas of how to improve Australia. All the Capital Cities voters must be happy with their costs of living and housing costs because they've vitually wiped out the LNP in the city electrates .As long as the Islamist Greens dont hold the balance of power can live with Labor . Jusy going to say , Trumps ripping 15% out of virtually every working Aussies super in a week did'nt help Dutton. Campaign was worst than Kamalas ffs .

Of the 40 seats the coalition is projected to have, 26 are National or Liberal National (QLD). Should the next leader come from the Nats? The Liberal Party was very light on talent prior to the election (which resulted in Dutton's "leadership") and they are paper thin now. They've also shown they don't really stand for anything so why not let the farmers have a run?

At least @SLIPPERGOLDEN can refer to the Liberals (and not Coalition) without being corrected now.

What a clusterf... the conservatives are in Australia. A joke. Their failure to read the room has resulted in this decimation with the federal government now effectively unchecked in the HoR. Nothing good comes from a government without an opposition. Conservatives have let the nation down. They should be ashamed.

    As @ 300125 Ladbrokes

    Liberal $1.57

    Labour $2.30

They may even offer an odds boost on Labour  ;))

    "coalition" ;))

Who woùld have thought Albo 20 months ago would totally destroy not only Dutton but the Coalition too. Christ after the rederendum he thought the Labor Caucus was going to roll him in a brutal faction asassination . Now looks certain to be a 3 election winning PM , probably 4 .

Failure to read the room? Can you elaborate please.

Failure to Read the Room - Jesus where do you start Rat . Nuclear , Trumpism , Work from Home , Policy on the Run , Matched Policy - LNP will match Labors funding , heard Dutton say it numerous times after Albo promised funding for projects , Not using Jacinta Price ffs . Face it Albos hopeless but deadset Dutton was absolutely hopeless in last 2 months before the election . Run the worse Campaign in Australian History .

Why do you think not using Price was a negative for them?
She has an inflated opinion of her self.
    An irrelevant dimwit
Not to mention that she is not even a Liberal.

Dutton was probably the main reason, and also the fact that they had NO policies articulated,
    Back on Track..........From what?.....How?

I have not thought of the Liberals as conservative, since that lying rodent Howard was their leader.
They have only gotten nuttier since then.
They need to move back towards the centre, but Labor has that spot taken now.
I far preferred Labor when they were a left leaning party.

Was 'nt IRRELIVENT 20 months ago during the referendum . When put up by Albo , Dutton and the LNP were all for it until she came on Bolt and Credlins shows and put up her No Case . Still took Dutton and LNP another week to jump on board . Anyway Carey , looks like Labors in power for the next 6/9 years unless the Libs can find another Johnny Howard out there .

Its a big reach to say Price influenced the nation on the referendum, was never favoured in the polls.

A light weight who will be found out if she takes a senior position, saw an interview after her defection to the Liberals on SKY and despite being a vanilla interview it verged on embarrassing, waffle without any clarity.

About 30 years ago, I had a lecturer at Curtin University in Behavioural Health Science (for some reason they didn't like to use the term "psychology" in the Nursing stream) who would occasionally pontificate with his thoughts on matters not pertaining to the course itself. He once described the Liberal Party as "intellectually impotent". I thought it was harsh at the time. It seems appropriate now.

@G-Mac what did you mean by a failure to read the room?

I think George Brandis says it better than I ever could (skip to around 13m10s - 15m20s)

    Good Post G Mac .

It must have been horrendous for some of the Liberal candidates. Having to constantly read the news feed to figure out what your party stands for while trying to put the minds of constituents at ease. The race baiting with immigration is one unpalatable thing about their leadership; the complete disregard for women was next level. Look at the candidates in WA. Safe seat? Male. Do we have a chance? Male. Are we wasting our time? Yeah, chuck a woman in. Old "born to rule" white men attitudes. Good riddance.
