Interesting piece between the guineas and railway on Sky Thorougbred  yesterday. Followed Pikey on a day at Grant and Alana’s doing work on Western Empire etc.  Pikey was very forthcoming with praise for them both, Alana in particular who he said has an innate ability to educate horses and get them tractable etc. He said something like I could have not been here for 3 weeks and from the moment I sit on a horse I can instantly tell if Alana has been working it.

I’m leaning to The Falcs side on this, of course Bob is providing them with elite athletes to train but not sure it’s just that.  They are doing plenty right and are probably the best producers of a horse to peak on the right day as we have here

Don’t really care who’s side your taking Precision. But to say Durrant couldn’t hold a candle to them is a absurd statement. As I said how many premierships have thay won?

its a different adam today as there was yesteryear.

Hi Spinking, Because you win the premiership does not make you the best trainer /jockey but it helps to get more horses to train /ride..

In a forum with hundreds of members maybe there’s a chance my opinion wasn’t directed only for you. And considering there’s a difference of opinion it is relevant who’s side people are on.  When you turn out to be one out in an opinion like you seem to be then maybe the one in your mirror is the one who’s wrong.

didn’t say I was right or wrong. I said to say he couldn’t hold a candle to them was a absurd statement. Didn’t say winning the premiership makes you the best trainer. Didn’t he win last years title . I may be wrong haven’t looked but if so how does that make him different to yesteryear. But winning seven out of the last ten would seem to indicate he could hold a candle to anyone in Wa.

Think this has morphed into a comparison of whom the better trainer is, when the original theme was that Mr Peter's might be a little more generous in his public recognition of his trainer(s). Now, behind the scenes, he may well be extraordinarily generous in his thanks and praise, and he may well be very uncomfortable in the interview situation. However, he does seem to do a very good public rendition of a man reluctant to hand out any sort of public acknowledgement to those who do the hard yards getting his superb horses to the winners circle.

i've given it thought from every angle, V_v and cannot come up with anyone prepared to take the chalice.
i even googled WA trainers and even from that list i could not come up with a potential name.

According to Jay Rooney Grant and Alana "have no idea whether  Bob peters will retain them as his trainers of choice in the famous  cerise and white after the current Perth racing carnival"

Bob was very good in his interview on Tabradio this morning, i thought. Was open with his answers to the questions the boys put to him about the future.

Brillant coach Bob Peters no accolades, given  keeps them on there toes---Alana & Grant sure no how to peak  horses for grand finals  ---Alot trainers resort to the  Trainers excuse book 2nd up SYNDROME far to often .

W.E. 2nd up into a railway off a winning derby prep. 7 months prior. Won  by 4 and looking for more. be third up into K.T.  Treasure Star  deliberately missed the Champion Fillies for the gunieas which also may allow her to get to K.T---- Artist. at work  B.P.

Treasured Star ruled out of the KT STG according to this mornings paper after not pulling up 100 percrnt after Saturday. BP has that at his mercy as well if nothing happens to WE between now and then

I'm confused, reports are saying that team William's are unsure if bob will keep sending them horses. Then Bob says this morning that he is unsure if team William's will accept his horses and that they are the ones initiating the split?

Your not the only one confused think Jay Rooney is too,
On Bob, Grant and Alana thread it was stated on Oct 13 .
That he wrote a story saying there is no split

Sounds like it could be a case of Cat and Mouse? Maybe Grant and Alana pressing for higher training rates from Bob or a bit more freedom?

Fascinating interview with Bob. Even when they asked him whether he was concerned other trainers may not be able to achieve the same results given the heights Grant and Alana had reached, Bob gave nothing. Not one bit of praise, gratitude or acknowledgment for their efforts.

Think Bob answered the question correctly, How would you know.
Think if a interviewer is looking for a particular answer ,then ask the right question.
    Easy,
Do you think Grant and Alana are great trainers and do you think you could of achieved the results you have, without them ?
A question like that ,would get the answer that we are all looking for.

Then again whats that old saying,
    Ask no questions
    Get told no lies.

Western Empire - Timeform rating of 121 for winning G1 Railway Stakes. He is the equal highest rated winner of the event with two-time winner Luckygray.

.There is a fair chance Bob thinks Blind Melon Chittlin could train horses of the quality he breeds.

    she would give luckygray windburn.
races in the right spot, and then leaves then standing still
    is verry verry special.
think could probably do same over here.

There's going to be some high profile retirements from the riding and training ranks in the next month or so when racing participants need to be vaccinated for Covid19
    Will be interesting times.

Sounded to me like Grant and Alana want to train horses for other owners, particularly when Bob’s horses are enjoying down time.
They don’t want just to prepare and educate his B graders and young ones in their down time.
Maybe they want to test themselves in the open market just like a stable jockey going freelance?
Perhaps Bob is too much of a control freak and G&A want to cut the umbilical chord ?
Sometimes you just need a change of scenery and or direction.

Same. I really can't get my head around people in amazing jobs ie. AFL / star jockey, (who are anti-vax)... they are prepared to give it all away because they don't want to get the jab. Really?

Good thing is..you dont have to get your head around it.Their right to do so, as silly as it seems to others.
Willie Pike was mentioned as one and while he laughed it off i didn't read clearly that he dismissed it, i may be way wrong there.

Yes I hear that Pikey is the one. Another, more experienced jockey is also one, and he is very much against it.

from what I have heard as Scenic said it’s not just a high profile jockey but a trainer as well
