Beware of new treated pine rails containing CCA (copper chromium arsenate I think is the offender).

At this stage, I'm not so sure you can use the pine post excuse. It's pretty well documented and trainers need to wrap their posts to reduce how much the posts are chewed

After your response to Godd your response was invited and predictable.

Anyone know when the adjoined stewards inquiry from June 2 at Bunbury between Grantham, Voak and Markham is going to be completed?

It's 2018 and the old treated pine issue is still around. The hilarious thing is people still buy the excuse.

"included three previous offences in relation to prohibited substances rules"

    Only got a year???

What an absolute **** joke 12 months for a guy with 3 previous strikes
To me this is the kind of sh*t that the industry should turf out for good.
Just goes to show the RWWA Stewards have ZERO credibility and are just as big a blight on the industry as Callan.

In determining the penalty Stewards took into account, amongst other things:

    • The length and depth of Mr. Suvaljko’s involvement in harness racing and prior record which included three previous offences in relation to prohibited substances rules.

I stand by my comments. I don't care if you have been in the industry 50 years 4 positives is 4 too many and 12 months is a fu$king disgrace.

I agree 12 months for a repeat offender is a disgrace

Wow there is a bit of baseball  bat hitting in  this thread

Over east in NSW - poor old Mitchell Reese - well hes not that old - got done for having a tiple or 2 too many before the Sunday trials a Penrith

His reading was .036 - copped 10 weeks - i think thats a little bit over the top

The rules from yester year used to be first offence 12 months, second offence 5 years, third offence LIFE. Bring back those rules.

    Leopards never change there spots.

Douglas Hewitt did the same thing - lower BAC at 0.026% but he gets an extra 2 weeks because it was a Group 1.

Good to see pretty much nothing said on the radio about Callan and his disqualification.
Boratossa and his mates were quick to jump on the band wagon and tell everyone how tough they are with the social media convictions and when it comes to a drug cheating recidivist there is crickets.
Maybe in 12 months time when he gets his license back he would have learnt his lesson.

    BWAHAHAHHAHAHA

If only the stewards in WA had some resemblance of intestinal fortitude to rid the industry of criminals and blatant cheats.
Was going through some old reports and found D Gallagher got 25 years for his 6th positive swab in NSW.
Here in WA we hit them with a wet lettuce leaf and give someone 12 months for their 4th breach.
No wonder those in the industry trying to make an honest living are dirty on these cheats hanging around.

Bit rough there 2LTW both Steph and Morgan are good members of the industry and pretty good people to boot, Mistakes happen would hate to see you locked up in jail for a speeding fine

Cheating is hardly a mistake. Maybe the mistake is getting caught

    • "The serious nature of these offences and the need for deterrence both general and specific."

Not much of a deterrence IMO.
