I do not profess to know all about racing but this from yesterdays Stewards report bemuses me

PEABODY - Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Impeded from on straightening,
crowded and restrained outwards across heels at the 250m and bumped another runner. Trainer
H Harding was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding regarding its racing
manner and that should the gelding behave in a similar manner in future further action may be
    taken

General: Stewards inquired into the reasons for PEABODY (R Hill) being impeded, crowded and
restrained passing the 250m. Evidence was tendered by Jockeys M Autier (INIMITABLE), M
Pateman (MONKEY BAR), L Warwick (LADY HAWKE) and R Hill (PEABODY). Jockey M Autier
was found guilty to a charge of Careless Riding under AR.137(a) for allowing his mount to shift
and bump LADY HAWKE outwards as a result PEABODY which was racing between LADY
HAWKE and MONKEY BAR was crowded and had to be restrained outwards across heels.

I just watched the replay, horse in question pulled a bit in the run, but they were walking, held up on corner, maybe got a bit close to heels, then got knocked down, blundered slightly had to be angle out so not to maybe fall, contacts another horse doing so.

So my question is how can it get a warning on racing manners when another horse, whose rider got suspended contributed to all that happened ?

I noticed on Saturday Carolina Reapers trainer was advised (after its previous start) to replace Andrew Castle with a senior rider.
he was replaced by Lisa Staples.....
    :-??

Here's another question. One that baffles me. Why does Autier's suspension start next Monday? Usually a riders suspension will start after any named rides have been ridden. Nominations for Sat / Sun are not until tomorrow. Why does he get to ride on the weekend?

Oh....  Now I see it.... Kalgoorlie on Sunday.... Wouldn't want to be short of jocks now, would they????

Nope. I asked this morning. Apparently any suspended jockey or driver has 9 days grace to begin their suspension. This is to allow for any ride/drive bookings in that period, be they official or just verbal. After must have agreed to take rides later this week.

    You learn something new everyday...
