Going to kick the night off with a little e/w on the consistently improving TUBBS FARQUHAR.
Kristian Hawkins is doing a good job with him and after finding a little flat spot at the top of the lane he hit the line better than THISBEACHRIGHTHERE last monday at Pinjarra. Has gone from $41 to  $34 fixed while I was typing this so somebody obviously agrees....bugger!!

Some very interesting races tonight and to be honest I am very much looking forward to it.
Oaks to me seems, although not a vintage one, a cracker none the less.

We have two in Group 1s tonight; 1 drew 8 and the other 9 :( Good luck to Purest Silk and Major Express though neither it seems have much of a chance from the nosebleeds

I would like to see the Train cut the ribbons on Lady De La Renta out of the gate .....force the lead and run as hard and fast for the 2500m as she can. Similar to what she did on 23rd March when beaten 2m in 1.56.4 over 2500m by Bechers Brook. That would sort a few out and give her a good chance of holding on...she is tough as old boots and can't win going back.

I know it costs me cisco but I am philosophically opposed to corporates and thus won't punt on their platforms. They can stick their $51 Tubbs and I will laugh about it now then have a lump in my throat if he rolls home tonight  :((

    Who cares what Gavin says

Roy boy - " The Professor " Roy Higgins - " Give me barrier 1 every day of the week "

That thing you like in the 1st - been some decent money for that $26 and $4 both TAB.Com and Tab Touch .

Whozideawasthis was a good standout for novelties, looked a good peg race. Bottors Fire is interesting over 2500m. He SHOULD just win but he can get keen. He is a $1.05 horse interms of being the obvious pick but its not one I would want to bet around.

Our Zac Whitby is similar. Could pick these up and carry them but it isnt a fool proof horse. Its priced like it just walks to the front, probably will but it doesnt have the early speed to do it itself its relying on the others to give it the respect to do it so not a play either IMO.

Soho changeling, Coot Beach, Campora, Justa Horse my place plays for the night.

Sea Me Smile for the master, hood on, Chris Lewis special I reckon.

Art Keeper being really underated in his race, thought he had a bit on them.

Before I rant as I like to do, any reason for running so late?

Dunno Gilga but from experience sometimes stewards enquiries between races mean that drivers are late into the cart...late onto the track....and then have to do an adequate warm up. May not have been the case here but with all the technology available race enquiries should be run on thursdays and penalties considered then. Otherwise harness will continue to be bumped to SKY 2 ....even if as happened tonight a 25 K 12 horse race at GP is dumped to show a 5 K C2 to C4 Port Pirie race on Sky 1.....and we  simultaneously enjoyed the 1/4 screen of the Race For The Roses whilst the vision of the arrsecracks of dog handlers loading dogs at Richmond occupied another 1/4 screen

I'm a big C D Brown fan and think if he was still driving the bond horses they would be getting more winners than what they are. But honestly that drive in the oaks was worthy of a 6 week suspension......ridiculous

Longest priced Oaks winner since Rod Starkie lobbed with Mantilla Lass at 100 /1 though I think.

Recall Mantilla Lass from the very early days on the punt, think she was handy enough. Remember fancying her a few times...but probably not that night!

Why wouldn't Risk be driven forward at the start like last week ?

I think when CD Brown is in a race against the Halls - Browny suffers from white line fever

29.8 and 28.7 the 2nd last half mile - the $97 pop ( who ran last - beaten 36 metres ) hammers the $1.90 fave in the lead in a 150k race -interesting

I had to check my guide mid race - i thought the death horse might have been steered by G Johnson -lol

The 13k jackpot on the first four paid very well for the odds on fave 2, then the good old reliable ( except when I take 'em!) 1,10 1,10 combination $492 :-O not a bad night for the tens and working around the 1,10s.
