    See they had one of the guys from the Integrity Assurance Commission on the radio this morning. Typical of them to talk a lot but say nothing.
    They said there is no official complaint against a steward or an investigator (which will be coming soon) and hence no one has stood down.  I think its funny they said that Borovica bought it to the ICA attention, seeing as though the cross hairs have him fairly and squarely in its sights I find quite humorous.
    The did mention about some anomalies in the paperwork (transcript) from the initial inquiry held in Kalgoorlie in December. When I mean anomalies I mean not the complete transcript of what occurred.
    What to me is of concern is one of the members of the IAC Mr Kemp worked under Borovica and I am not suggesting at all anything untoward as I have always found Mr Kemp a very very good communicator and with the upmost integrity but its hard to convince outsiders of impartiality when there is that connection.
    See Mr Brad Lewis will be chairing a new investigation into the initial inquiry for the Kalgoorlie incident.

    Protest where Craig Salagari (sorry if I spelt it wrong) won a race and beat Aldos horse, Aldo drove another one in the race and ran 4th, protested against the winner and the protest was upheld. No vision of the incident and relied on the stewards observations.  The inquiry was into the interference and was adjorned until January.

    Victoria have got the best policy for peanut participants or owners who slag off officials on social media

    Straight before the stewards - rule 248 - there was one the other day - fined $500 - ( $250 of it suspended for 2 years - as long as they dont trangress) .  The fine $  amount - they take into account  what was said - the subsequent  remorse shown and apology given

    Life can be short and tragic

    Watching the Shepparton trots tonight - the caller said one driver was wearing a black armband - re the tragic death of Nick Dewar 18 year old trots driver . I rated him - only had about 50 drives - and drove quite a few winners - based in Young NSW - drove at Wagga - Shepparton etc

    Drove at Shepparton last week - came 2nd - then had  the long trip back to Young - 450 kilometres

    Its alot of responsibility for  basically a boy making that trip back late at night alone  - fatigue they think was a factor - ran off the road after midnight and hit a tree

    And good on Chris Alford - in the Miracle Mile final  he wore some part of Dewars clothing as a mark of respect

    An accident waiting to happen here too Marko.
    During the season some people will drive Narrogin thurs GP fri Bunbury Wagin or Northam sat trials sunday morn Kellerberrin sun afternoon Pinjarra mon and GP tue.
    Some meetings dont finish until nearly 11pm....ridiculous and dangerous.

    Fatigue is potentially a huge issue...I have often though that overnight stabling accommodation would be a good thing at distant tracks.....trekking back from Albany (or even Narrogin or Wagin Night meetings), sometimes on their own for the one or two horse trainer,  getting back at 2 in the morning and then up again at 5 or 6 am. We seriously underestimate how hard these people work. And a lot of them have day jobs to go to as well. I did the Kellerberrin to Manjimup run last year and it was a long trek...and that was a day meeting...it wasn't fun.

    At the very least RWWA should be laying some leather on SKY and its Eastern States centric influence on race time scheduling JJ.
    You get the same old "people have shown us they are prepared to travel to place their horses in the right races even if it is for lesser stakes" rubbish trotted out as a defensive position. It's bullshizen...they have little alternative.
    People by and large would rather go around the corner for any stakemoney than travel repeatedly for 2 or 3 or 4 hours.
    At least the raceday start times and finishing times could aid those who put in the K's to and from bush meetings......which is generally not anyone from the upper echelon of the controlling body.

    I wonder if the Han Palace has been put on red alert for the hoi polloi after fridays 8 race card GP finish at ten past nine .
    Also I wonder if the Williams Roadhouse has been asked to chuck a few extra battered savs on for the deliriously happy battlers passing through at 2 am after the 10 race card at Albany which finishes at 10.25 pm.

    A number of the young drivers are buttering up at Northam on the Saturday Night after Albany on the Friday....and then there is Sunday Morning trials at Pinjarra and Byford. It's no walk in the park for industry participants, at any level, but particularly if your horses or drives aren't good enough to race in the city.

    But it looks like the mighty Lord above - has allowed the great - the legendary - the hall of famer - Phil Coulson one last drive

    Or more to the point - old weather beaten - NSW Riverina driver - Davey Druit - has given a world class impersonation of legendary Phil

    Race 7 at Shepparton - 28th of Feb ( can someone please put the vision up - because i dont know how to do that )

    Watch the bloke closely in the death seat - when they come down the front straight for the bell - hes got Legendary Phil down to a tee - hes got that classic bent over - crouched over - bloody old hunch back look - hey

    Now Teddy Demmler - Teddy boy - no i better not bring Teddy into this discussion - lol

    Got a feeling it was Ian Craig calling. Kevin Thompson took over at HP in 1980 then called the next 29 MM's. Also noticed the " average NSW horse Michael Frost " - the horse that ended San Simeons winning streak...ran a decent sort of third in the race after breezing and was nailed by Paleface in the last hop for second. San Simeon ....he sure was overrated wasn't he Marko ? %-(

    You know - seeing your such a stickler for accuracy - you want poor Ritchie sacked because he pronounces wind ( as in breeze ) instead of wind ( a clock ) lol

    I liked the mobile barrier too - what was it a Cadillac or Pontiac - a bit of class - instead of the run of the mill rubbish they use today

    M Vanderkemp tried to turn it into a staying test...against Pure Steel....that went well. I do think that run was the one RVW never recovered from....broke his heart and spirit.....like the time James Buster Douglas floored Mike Tyson.....the tiger in his eye turned into a pussycat.
    Northam has a Cadillac for trials like that one at MV......god awful thing to climb into but a swanky vehicle in its day. Made its way to Northam after residing in an on course shed in Kalgoorlie for at least 10 years. Bloke I know made it a repository for his Playboy magazines up there back in the day

    Did we ever have three callers here for a short period on a Saturday raceday ? Was thinking along the lines of Jim Chadwick 6IX , Trevor Jenkins 6PR and Max Simmonds 6WF ?

    Had a feeling we had both 6IX and 6PR just for a little while before 6PR eventually took over. Also wasn't there a bit of a blow up somewhere along the line and we weren't getting the country trot calls which back then use to be on a Wednesday night ?

    Have a memory of twirling the radio around in the night sky trying to pick up one of the country radio stations who would be broadcasting the nights pacing from a Cunderdin,Wagin, Harvey etc because 6PR had dropped the service for some reason and fortunately especially on a balmy summer night could pick up a country radio station doing the trots.

    Just for the younger ones. Hard to believe but true.

    Monday : Tab shut. Exception public holiday racing.

    Tuesday : Tab mostly shut but occasionaly did bet on 2 eastern states meets from Mel & Syd.

    Wednesday: Tab open for local country meeting, Melbourne and Sydney racing and later local country trots.

    Thursday: Same as Wednesday with Cannington dogs replacing country trots.

    Friday: Tab shut but the city tabs would open for two hours about 12-2 and then close with all tabs opening at about 4 o'clock to bet on Harold Park, Gloucester Park and Mandurah Greyhounds.

    Saturday: Perth Racing, A local country race meet eg Albany, Melbourne Racing, Sydney Racing and only if a big Group One like the Stradbroke or Goodwood Handicap would we bet on Brisbane or Adelaide and only on those individual races. Country trots Saturday evening, Cannington Greyhounds and eventually Moonee Valley Trots.

    Sunday: Tab Doors firmly locked. Most at church and hoping to get there money back the following week.
