Would like to see him return to form but $1.70 Beaudiene, not for me. Vultan Tin ran a cracking race for 4th last start and at $26, seems overs from inside the back line.
On barriers alone, Military Master, Deep Blue and Artistic Lilly each way, all drawn gate 2. Interest bets only as weather is very dodgy and when the heavens open, keep the lid on the tea caddy.

Callan Suvaljko just like Mr. Magoo...he's done it again! How some don't rate him is a mystery. Genius of a driver and on horses at a price. Only has one more drive and it's a 100/1. However already mission accomplished.

Horses are running for him at the moment but perhaps a little exuberant with the "genius" call Riders. I think he has a ways to go to join Kersleys (F, F.E and F.R), Coulson, Schrader, ACL, DJ Townley, P.J  Hall and co, but certainly on top of his game. and the draw sure helped.

On a not often seen 26.4 first quarter, no surprise that Zach ran 1.52.6 to be just 0.1 outside the track record. Smoking the pipe back in the pack while Military Master was copping the death by a 1000 cuts routine. Hard pulling horse like Thereugo and Bettors are a nightmare for drivers and punters alike. The back to complete a satisfactory trial scenario seems to make little difference and you just can't back them unless drawn to lead. In that race, what does Lewis do? hand up and lose or hold up and lose...a question that is nigh on unanswerable. Meanwhile, Zach was well supported and got it served up on a plate...very nice horse.

Trying to bluff Lewis after it was obvious that the lead was legitimately not an option.....pfffft.
Intractable horses....pffffft.......zero excuse. When you attempt anything robust at the start and it doesn't come off then you have to wear the pain and grab up cosmetically at least....not sit up like a cigar store indian.....let them run.... and ruin the chances of all and sundry at the pointy end.
Totally foreseeable scenario pre race......consequences are needed.

It  took the stewards 25 minutes to disqualify the 11 - it should have taken 1 minute - went inside the pegs for a long way

Only question was whether it was camp drafted when W Reids drive was forced back down by S Young (legitimately).Nonetheless it was going to be disqualified.surprised there was no protest 4th vs 3rd as they were placed across the line. Reid tried to force a passage when it was not on imho.

Soho Tribeca - in the semi final of the Vicbred - $1.04 favourite - could not have been more unimpressive in leading and  winning - going up and down on the spot last 40 metres - Prentice threw the kitchen sink at it - to hold on by a nose from a 100-1 pop

Soho lugged out 3 horses off the pegs in the run to the line, so yes, nowhere near as imprssive as its win at Ballarat.Had certainly had enough and the 2nd horse spent almost the first lap 3 wide.

Happy to see Beaudiene back winning but no value at $1.30. Even happier to see Vultan Tin at 4.60 the drum. Seems like he will measure up to fast class ranks ...last 2 runs have been terrific and went around at overs tonight....with the trifecta an added bonus. Sticky Buns.

Military Master was huge to hang on for fourth should have won easily. Death by a thousand cuts..spot on JJ. Vulcan Tin most improved horse in Australasia! Was making good ground on the winner too.

Other highlight Justin Prentice drove brilliantly. On his game he's potentially as good a driver as the best of them.

Was there the night he won the Narrogin Cup Riders, he hasn't looked back.

Action night, a couple of big suspensions (28 days and 26 days), half a dosen fines for not being in position at the candy pole, adjourned enquiry, QP's and QDT"s, trial numbers will be boosted this week.....and some pretty good racing in between. Stewards report will be a novel.

Big Lightning Calder winning an $18k Trot...gee, a huge lump of a horse who seems a handful but good luck to them for perservering.

Was a good first four dividend...over $500... Boaz to lead from the 1,10 Dreadlock and Vulcan...RunOneOver to go to the breeze...finished 5 , 10 , 12 , 1. First four in running - first four home.

Got a rare trifecta but only a 100 bucks ...was hoping BB would breeze off Dreadlock and VT behind leader but didn't quite work out...happy just the same and off to the bakery on a filthy wet morning down here.

Erskine Range from the two put a spanner in the works for a few moments , just took a little sting out of the Rockstar. Every chance after that. Once again in the free for all company some very dissapointing runs. A few of the hardy campaigners going nowhere. Hence Vulcan Tin has gone past them.

i reckon andrews .aidens and the stables  effort to get handsandwheels up on another group 1 win was worth a mention.must be in running for 3 yearold  of the year award.

Wins the big races, has north of $230k in the bank plus the  Westbred bonus's...his 2yo brother Rock Me Over runs very good places in the big races, Handsandwheels wins them.

Rated perfectly in front. Had that race won a fair way out. Another driver like Prentice on the way up.

More humour from West Ratings tonight...Robert The Bruce rated 2.20, started at 1.10 deservedly so on the back of a brilliant win first up, CC Chevron rated at 33.00, opened at 8.50 fixed on a last start 2nd in a metro penalty race???

$1.45 AND $8.20 on Giddyup were a little more realistic.

Stewards report pulled up lame off foreleg after casting a plate in running, stood down pending Vet Clearance. Cleared to start in the final yesterday subject to a final vet exam 9.00am morning of the final. Drawn 5 off the front line. Hopefully all okay.
