Meet the Board of Perth Racing event

West Australian Racing
Someone has forwarded on to me, for reasons I don't understand, an opportunity to meet the board of Perth Racing.

You can meet Managing Director, Neil Pinner, Prof John Yovich AM and the other not named directors of Perth Racing over a light refreshment and snacks meeting prior to the races in coming weeks.

But would they want to meet me ? Most likely not.

They and their predecessors, sued me several years ago, for pointing out the financial failures and misrepresentations, then once the ballot boxes closed for the election of office bearers that year, then dropped the legal action because it was unwinnable.

They now preside over a virtual graveyard at race meetings. The highly publicised redevelopment of the facilities and promises of towering apartments surrounding the precinct, has exactly amounted to zero. The Football Stadium that the State Govt wanted to build on their land, is now nearing completion across the freeway, and will have nil flow on effect for Racing as a result. Belmont meanwhile is almost in ruins. The money promised by the former administration has not eventuated, what they were paid has evaporated, and what is left is a corpse.

So now a new incarnation, renamed as a board and not a committee, wants to reconnect with their membership with promises of better times ahead ?

Sorry, I will be using my time a lot better than listening to more ****.

Roll up Roll up to the Neil Pinner Public Relations show.
Neil or Pins as he's known to the select few is up for re-election in October and what better way to shore up votes than to get Perth Racing to finance the campaign..
    Highly inappropriate i woulda thought.
Isn't it enough that his overseas and interstate trips this year..(Hong Kong and Singapore International meetings plus the major eastern states meetings)are perks of the job, meanwhile on the SS Perth Racing the life jackets torn and down the gurgler we go.

It would have been fairer to post this years balance sheet while Horatio had the helm (reliably informed a loss between 31/2 to 4 million)then let the members decide whether over tea and scones Pins should cop a pat on the back or a slap between the ears.

Sipping Chardy with the Dockers hierachy while the members are left to ask why all this money was wasted on your watch (consultants fees for the Belmont Development,Media rights etc etc)

As my dad used to say if it smells like sh-t and it looks like sh-t it probably is ****..

Like your man Pavlich Pins you've had your time you stuffed up move out and let someone who is going to help promote racing and not promote Neil Pinner have your seat

I think he supports West Coast. Probably not the main message of the post though.

don't blame Pins, he's only been in the dock for 5 minutes.

but, as u say SS PR is floundering, and even the lifeboats have holes.

YES you do. Since he has been on. nearly 2 years, the club is still running at a loss and have dived into the sale proceeds so much it now has no value for what it was intended to.

Then again, they will never waste another dollar of mine

    :D

That's probably around $2k less they have to waste a year.

Funny how the same building company that was used to update the members floor etc. and cost us over $6m was then used to do his little pub in Maylands. Sounds again like Sir Ted winning the race book tender again for another few years

the Turf Club is a very protected group and i doubt if the CCC or any other law enforcement authority could hold anyone accountable for anything the board did..it is whey Ted was known as Teflon Ted for many years..A lot of questions, no answers and no way to challenge it

Why not add promoting your own finance business with free race names on Wednesday to the list of double standards

I now know one of the connections. However if ever cornered in it, the response would be.....it is part of a commercial agreement that is confidential and we won't be divulging our clients contractual obligations.
