    Another trivia cricket question.......

If every batsman is out first ball in a cricket match which batsman remains not out?
Assuming none of them had the opportunity to switch ends (e.g. batsman caught out in the deep or run outs), I would agree with @JayJay that the #8 batsman would be the one not out when the score was 10/0. #1, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7 would be dismissed in first over, #8 would go to the non-striker's end at start of 2nd over, then #2, #9, #10 & #11 would be dismissed in second over.

    8 yes
Unless there was a run out

Have to see mode of dismissal. Someone could sky one to fine leg and the batsmen cross.
  • TiversTivers    7,720 posts
    Or that, yes.
Bats cross anyway was what I was getting at...

Now that's a bit harsh on SOS......

First time both teams have made less than 250 in the first innings of an Adelaide Test since 1992.

    Aus 145 & 451 beat India 225 & 333 by 38 runs.

Coincidence, Guptill scored 1 & 17 in the WACA Test and he just scored 1 & 17 in the Adelaide Test. #consistency

    Fair summation Jay Jay
Getting out in such a soft manner on 49 with the win so close is stomach turning.

Coulter-Nile hasn't played Shield all season and hasn't played a game since October. Have a Test cap son.

You know the rule................ If you want to play for Australia, you have to play for WA.
    Oh, hang on............that's NSW isn't (wasn't) it ?

South Africa needing 481 runs to win or face a minimum of 162 overs to save the test, were 3/94 after 107 overs at lunch on Day 5 against India.
    Du Plessis 2* (61), De Villiers 26* (203).

    SA 5/136 (138 ov) at Tea - Day 5
    De Villiers 43* (296), Vilas 13* (45), 85 maidens

De Villiers on course possibly for the slowest Test 50 (in terms of minutes) of all time.

    Record for slowest Test 50
TE Bailey (Eng) v Aus, 'Gabba, 1958
    350 balls, 357 mins

All irrelevant now, de Villiers gets out on his first ball after tea, Vilas out the over before, SA now 7/136.

SA lose 5/7 in 31 balls after tea to lose the final Test by 337 runs. India won the four test series, 3-0.

Not including Tests against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, the West Indies have only won 1 away Test from their past 69 Tests and that was against South Africa in Port Elizabeth, 2007.

Also, Australia has only lost one of their past 24 Tests against West Indies, the last loss being in 2003 at St John's, when West Indies chased down 418 in the final innings to win (Test record).

Probably shouldn't discuss the West Indies under this thread title for the time being. That was absolute filth they dished up yesterday. Well done to Voges and SMarsh for filling their boots. The 3 wickets in the sheds would have been spitting blood by stumps.
  • PAULPAUL    2,665 posts
Burns and Smith probably got out to the only couple of good deliveries bowled all day. Warner would have been filthy getting out tickling one down leg side.

The 449 partnership between Voges and S.Marsh was the highest fourth-wicket Test partnership ever, beating 437 by Mahela Jayawardene and Thilan Samaraweera v Pakistan, Karachi, 2009.

Also the 2nd highest Australian Test partnership after Bradman and Bill Ponsford, 451 v England, The Oval, 1934.

The 6th highest Test partnership ever. The highest being 624 between Sangakkara and Jayawardene v South Africa, Colombo, 2006.
