edited September 2014 Breeding
I have begun to sift through the Horses In Training Sale to be held next Tuesday 30th September on the Gold Coast.

What I like about ready to run sales, and I lament their absence from the WA marketplace, is that in addition to seeing a horse stand and walk in front of you, you can also see how they are at a gallop over a short distance. This gives a tremendous insight into what future a young horse may have in front of them.

As usual I am doing my complete breeding analysis, just looking for a hidden gem, and I will be on site the day before to visually inspect. Again I have the services of Dr Tim Roberts of Chris Waller Racing, and anything that we particularly like, we will give that horse a thorough examination prior to it walking into the sales ring.

If you are in the market for a two year old where most of the early work has been done, just drop me a line here on to my email:

damien.wyer.racing@bigpond.com

Cheers, Damien Wyer

Can't find the thread, but someone criticised me for having an opinion on Congrats. I did say that I had only seen his stock in Adelaide and they may not have been his top shelf foals. Well I have found a cracker in this sale if anyone in interested in stumping up some cash.

Breeze up sale is disappointing for vendors at this point. The good ones are getting passed in and everything else is hard work. So. Maybe I won't be spending as much as first thought.

Trying on a passed in lot but otherwise no. It came down to one colt and one filly. The colt was out of reach and I'm doing my best to warm up my client to the reserve to bring the filly home. A lot went cheap because they were unremarkable. It has been interesting watching the Patinack dispersal. I was on one horse but not now.

So does warm up my client mean I need someone to pay my expenses.

You really have some hostility built up inside you Spud.

I was asked over dinner recently how much it cost to retain my services, by someone who is in a high profile WA Stallion, with a couple of dozen broodmares. So he has been around the block a few times.

He couldn't believe how I operate, it was just to good to be true.

You can find out as well by asking any of my clients, from yearling to broodmare selection, or stallion selections. All deals are done on exactly the same basis.

A colleague who owns a reputation of good standing, doing exactly the same job as I do, only for longer, says I should not be as generous and that I should charge some level of fee, anything at all really, as I will spend a lot of time on people who won't generate me income. But I apply a pretty good filter these days to inquiries from tire kickers, so I don't waste a lot of time as a result.

So please don't come on here and have a go at me, about my business practices that you know almost f...all about. My business is growing as a result of what I do, and what I have done. The best is yet to come and the client base will only expand from here, irrespective of how many people you try and tell that I am a dickhead with no idea of what I am doing.

Your line warm up my client made my skin crawl, but I did not imply hostility by re-posting it I don't even know you personally and have only met you once so I think you are a tad precious.

Personally I too have a very good filter and can tell bullshit artists from a mile away.

I am also happy in knowing that I will never need your services or any other bloodstock agents .

Your last paragraph only leads me to understand how religions have brainwashed so many people as being gullible is the greatest human failing ever.
