This final field after barrier draw:

1. Smoken Up

2. For A Reason

3. Mach Beauty

4. Abbettorpunt (1E)

5. Beautide

6. Christen Me

7. Terror To Love

8. I'm Victorious

9. Bitobliss (2E)

10. Restrepo

Hell of a field and a multitude of different scenarios that could be played out. Smoken Up got just about the worst draw possible for him. He wants to lead but others come off the arm faster such as Mach beauty. For A Reason has drawn perfectly. With the pace they will be going you need to be in the first 4 runners as they straighten to be a chance. To come from last and win you would need to be rating 25 or below and that just isn't physically possible for some. This could result in a lot of moves mid race. Will certainly ensure a fast time.

Oh Yes, this is some field - so many cases to be made for so many of them. Ive been spruiking For A Reason for ages but this is a very deep field.

The more I look at it the more I think For A Reason has the gun draw. In most scenarios he ambles out and gets 1x1 with the pace on from the start and never relenting. I just can't see those that have drawn wide getting into it with a late run, they will have to move mid-race and risk being posted 3 deep.

And how about the support card. Sensational night of racing. The Kevin Newman Cup is a great field that would easily be the highlight any other night. The club should be congratulated for getting a 10 race card that deep together.

It would be disappointing to see For A Reason win,not a big fan, love to see the underdog Beautide give it to them :-*

Computer has updated and I haven't been able to put up any posts! This is a miracle mile field of old, itching for this race. Unfortunately I'll be in the air while it's on going to see the mrs family.

I still can't believe I got $8 on Mach Beauty a place last week. I honestly can see Mach Beauty getting accross, then its wether Smoken Up can get off the fence and assume his position. I will be on Beautide, he will be up there and is$4.50 at the moment, looking like he might get to ew. Would be ecstatic if Im Victorious can get up. Surely with that much talent out wide there will be some moves not just drivers looking around waiting for someone else to do it.

Fixed odds up on the meeting already boys.

Enormous place price for Mach Beauty. I see him crossing and leading.

I have a couple of multis on for the night at fixed odds:

Baby Bling, Brave Wiggy, Terrorway @ $55.44

    Then those 3 into For A Reason @ $194.04

If you're keen on I'm Victorious it pays to shop around. I know of at least one agency offering upwards of 34/1

That $8 a place was for the race last sat by the way so a much weaker field.

Some nice multis there, if I go alright tonight I might follow in.

Don't like not betting where it goes back into the industry but we're all in it to win it aren't we, I have a Ladbrokes acc and they bet fixed odds nearly all harness meetings and offer very competitive prices with the occasional big over. Soho Highroller at $16 a couple of Fridays ago springs to mind, bless them!

I was having a bit of a window shop of the odds the corporates have put up for the MM.

Interesting Betezy don't have a market up yet. And those guys part own Smoken Up if I'm not mistaken. Thought they would be all over it.

The guys at Bookmaker were very critical of I'm Victorious getting invited so it is at least good to see them putting their money where their mouth is.

Thought I'm Victorious was a massive run from where he was!
    Bring on the Vic Cup

Good run alright - barrier 8 was no help and gate speed not quite there yet but he drove him sensibly without getting involved in any war of attrition. Thought For A Reason was entitled to win with the run he got but all honors Beautide. Didn't spend a penny in the run and sprinted brilliantl albeit along the fence.

Best drive won the race and a great drive by Prentice earned I'm Victorious a nice cheque.

I thought For A Reason had it but he just couldn't find the devastating sprint he's shown in recent starts.. All credit to the winner and Team Rattray. Pretty good effort to keep the horse ticking over when there was no racing for it for 3 weeks.

Justin almost got to the 3 pegs position but as soon as he reached there Beautide dropped in to what turned out to be a winning position.

whether the interference IV copped early cost him a fraction im not sure but great Drive by both Rattray and Prentice i thought.

Prentice saved him up for 1 crack at them and i reckon if IV was in the 3 pegs position he may have won or 2nd but definately in the money.

The sectionals state IV has come home in 54.66 and Beau in 54.38 but Beau got moving before IV. If IV was 3 back pegs and got the split could Beau have run him down.

Not sure but who knows all just hypotheticals but no doubt IV deserved his spot in that field and WA has a real nice horse to follow.

Vic cup shaping up to be a absolute cracker.

IV had Beautide's back the entire trip and didn't spend a penny. Beautide put 7.6m on IV in the straight. Yes, if the positions were reversed Beautide would have run him down. Smoken Up rolls off the pegs and Beautide runs along them. Prentice stays on the pegs behind Beautide because he knows he isn't travelling fast enough to go past. It was a great result for IV and conncetins, the best they could have hoped for and a very smart drive given the circumstances, ie. he wasn't driving a horse good enough to win so he drove hiom for luck.

The Vic cup will be fantastic. And the Cranbourne Cup comes up this weekend as a nice entree.
