In many cases Trifecta divs don't appear as healthy as they used to be and race 7 yesterday is a good example. It should have paid three times that amount at least!!! I recall being fortunate enough to score double that amount and the horses were nowhere near those odds.

Woeful dividend. The first 4 in NSW paid less than the trifecta! Flexi-betting must have a bit to do with it.

    flexi betting the prob?

    Looks that way.

Well it is either flexi-betting, smaller pools or money being gleaned somewhere.

I personally think that flexi-betting is excellent, the alternative is full stakes making exotic betting prohibitive to many people and thus smaller pools.

But point taken, yes some of the dividends on races seem small.

Another small one in race 7 at Pinjarra. Supertab win odds for the 3 placegetters, $25.30, $75.90, $20.70
It should have paid>$25k but only paid $12k

As Paulo8 pointed out flexi betting is enabling small punters to bet wider. One or two small betting wider and fluking the combination now get the trifecta ( previously than were nowhere near finding it ) and even if they only have a small percentage, they cruel the dividend which previously only the larger punter found.

Think Wyongi is spot on, and don't forget mystery bets can also play their part.

How anyone can whine about divys is beyond me... it's simply the pool divided by the number of winners!!??

It's not a charity... suck it up, it's the way things are.

Would be keen to see how pool sizes, and individual bet numbers, have been affected....if the same people are picking the same combos but only paying half as much to place the bet you cant expect the same div...

i read in a player ad that most large divvies are won by a mystery bet.

correct! and the winning mystery bets are usually for 50 or even 100% of the divi

yep love the mysterys for trifectas..some of my biggest trifecta collects are on $3 Mystery bets...always with at least one or two roughies and always the ones that you feel like throwing away as soon as the machine spits it out..if I had of put them in my own selection it would have been 5 or 6 in for 25% or similar..on the mystery it's 100%..so that could be having an impact.

I actually think the bigger pools mean more players so more winners..and smaller divvies..It's exactly how they want it..More people to win, they win less so they go after more wins..

Like the Lotto Pools, a lot bigger pools a lot bigger win amount, but more peole winning an very rarely is first division over $1mil anymore

Yeah, lotto 1st division dividend last Saturday was $341,000. That would barely cover RIO's meat pie bill for a month!!
