Thanks RIO, don't want the grey to become a swayback.

Good field really but cant understand why more ES horses dont target the race good prizemoney available.
Doesnt look much pace in the race agree Rio 14 or 15 or 7 if he draws inside 4 just dont like Luckygray at 1800m will have to round them up of slow speed.

    gee, boss is back.
he must have been impressive the other week.
will he get down to 50?

Alot depends on the barrier draw i think in this one. Very rarely do horses come from back in the field and win the Kingston Town. If the God's get marbles again then i can see either being prominent although one paced. it would make things interesting if Luckygray drew a barrier less than 10 i think. I can assure everyone if he draws nicely, he wont be getting snagged back to last.

Colour correct massive overs i think, quality horse on his day and getting up to a decent trip.

Normally he can get down to 50 reasonably comfortably with a few weeks notice but in this case he must be confident eve though it is relatively short notice.

He said on Sunday that he would think about the ride but then accepted it later so must be OK.

Luckygray to BRAIN them, absolutely BRAIN them and make the rest of the country sit up and take notice.
  • careycarey    6,424 posts

so he brains them, and the rest of the country will what??!!
as good as he is, it's still only a pg1, even if the horse may be a rg1 type. :-\"

I like Mr Moet 10s /Ranger 10s and Rosie 14s im betting around the Grey might be wrong but have a serious doubt over his ability to run a strong 1800m i think he is more 1400-1600m best

fantastic field in my opinion, i know 90% of west aussie's are on the luckygray bandwagon but I'm all for Playing God notching the hat-trick. He's a super galloper and underrated i think. A two-time Group 1 winner, four-time Group1 placegetter in Melbourne and deserves more accolades than he gets!

All depends on barrier draw i think. Ranger could come back and bite those who got off him after his railway run. Open race, but taking the weight factor from the Railway into account, Luckygray should just be winning even if he doesnt run a 'strong' 1800m.

I personally would like to see the grey draw inside 7 and take up a position midfield. Clearly the best horse in the race and at level weights there isn't anything in this race he won't run past.

I get the feeling It wasn't an automatic decision to run him in this race and his work after the railway needed to be exceptional to convince Gino to run him.

If he starts, it means he is spot on. If he is spot on, he wins.

Ranger is becoming a wallet burner Chris but im also gonna stick he drew barrier 5 should have LG inside him he is a funny horse ,one day get all the luck everything go his way and demolish a field of good horses but as Pikey said in the paper the other day he doesnt help himself in running
