Second meeting of the year this Saturday, there were a few value winners at the first meeting.....even if one of them only paid half dividend.... but that's another story in another topic.

The King of Geraldton has a full book of rides this week, and should come home with a couple of winners.

Just like the majority of tracks in WA, if you lead, you win.....or at least go very close. Something about getting dirt thrown in your face, I know I don't like it, and probably most horses don't like it either.

Racing has moved 400kms closer to me...... I love this time of the year.....next stop Port Hedland......Bring it on!!!

What a bloody joke they are up there in Carnarvon. I don;t know why sky channel bother about telecasting their races. ERvery race so far today has been running 4 to 5 minutes late and finish up clashing with another meeting. Nobody seems to care and they just wander around behind the barrier. Why don't thestewards exert a bit of authority and smarten the place up before sky finishes up giving them the flick.

Oscar Wildly - I agree with your comments about late start times, it isnt acceptable and is issue that needs be addressed but I think you'll find Carnarnarvon Race Club are trying to do everything right to ensure they keep sky channel and they aren't completely at fault for the delays at the barriers, on stewards request Carnarvon hire Geraldton's barrier staff each meeting, and have done for 2 years now, at a considerable cost as well as unlimited meal allowance, accommodation and car hire. Carnarvon Race Club also flew up, at full cost of the club, technical staff for the photo finish prior to the meeting and a RWWA judge for the meeting on Saturday to ensure the equipment and techniques of the clubs judges were all up to scratch - as it happened the equipment that the club have is Sky Channels and as good any other club in WA, the enhancement of the dead heat between Neverbeenworse and Wotchinyu was enhanced by equipment only available at the RWWA office in Perth (but thats a completely different subject) What I'm tyring to say is, give Carnarvon a break, they are only a small country club that are trying there best.

Esperance, Albany, Mt Barker all the same, last meeting at Albany the Countdown clock was inside a minute nearly every race before the barrier attendants made a move to bring horses in.

I may have been a bit harsh on the Carnarvon club and really its up to the steward in charge to get the horses out onto the track earlier. Some of the jocks just meander around to the gates and sometimes u see them a "mile" behind the barrier when the starter calls them up. Why not send them out a couple of minutes earlier and start putting them in two or three minutes before start time. That gives the attendants time to get any troublesome runners in and hold the last runner out if they look like going early. Surely its not too hard to implement.

Sounds like you know your business OW, if you've got time on a Saturday, plane leaves at 10am - hop on and come give them hand ;)
