    it's actually an interesting subject.
if you have a .5 on something and you are the only winner you get the pool.
how can that be if it's not a full unit?

My biggest win was a quartet I got for a 50c unit and I got the pool. It was 2002 and the winner paid $7, 2nd paid $16.50 place, 3rd paid $11.80 the place and 4th had an SP of 33-1. There were 15 runners and the first 3 faves finished out of the top 4. The divi was 183k of which I got 91.5k. The thing is, if the pool had been 500k, I still reckon I'd have got the whole pool!
one reason for declaring divvies for $1, they get to tell lies.
    it can't pay 183k if the pool is only 91.5k * 1.29(for a 22.5% take)
well done for getting it though.

My first reaction was (expletive), how can it only pay 18k! I wasn't used to seeing such big numbers

Only a couple look at me for the weekend:

Rafferty* - i can only see pike beating it..should run over all of these (take the $2.80)
The Tenby Friar*e/w - ultra consistent, smaller field and J Brown back aboard, should sit in a perfect position and look the winner in the straight (take best tote)

Agree Pluger took the $2.80 about Rafferty and I think Elyssa Grace a nice chance also at nice ew odds

price was right, to bad for the run..

Was in out in plenty of time at the 200m to get the winner but didnt make enough ground clearly maybe ridden to close if anything

I read in the Stewards report that the trainer and connections have decided to tip him out for a spell.

I think the best thing they can do for the horse is save him for Belmont because his record over dead or slow tracks speaks for itself. 3 starts for 2 wins and a 3rd so he obviously thrives with the sting out of the ground.

Maschino is a 1200m to 1400m horse imo. Needs pace on, ridden cold and whoosh.
that ping was trained out of him this campaign. Last start you could see he just plugged to the line.
I'd keep him to the shorter trips next campaign.
