Certain new cliches just drive me nuts of late -- I hate the stupid use of "grand final" in interviews with racing people. For example "is this your grand final?' -- what the bloody hell is that. Grand finals are in football not horseracing---what next? how did the ''preseason'' go with your horse?
the other new one that sends me nuts is "this horse ticks all the boxes''...

"Better than bank interest"

Paul Sherwen is the best at this when commentating le tour
Phil Ligget: He is having a great tour

Working perfectly this morning

"Roman Knows has won by a roman nose" (it won by half length)
And here's another No.. No.. Yes expert.
"if he runs one more second we will have a minute"
Sorry I got that mixed up with ones I'd like to hear.
If I hear a teenage girl use it more than 15 times per minute I think it is justifiable homicide
Has it always annoyed me? INDUBITABLY
Even more annoying for me is the misuse of 'literally'. And now it has graced PTT. From the home page:
Joe Azzopardi : Literally a track burner after his dashing ride on Abmberlyn at Geraldton on Sunday. A kid who has a future.
Not literally. He doesn't actually set fire to race tracks.
what a bloody crazy phrase that is.
yeah, the kid done a good job...
I feel like saying "well tell him to lighten up"
"its all over bar the shouting" when i have backed the horse in front!
HATE it when im on the one in second place!!!
you in town? great arvo for a coldie and a few bets on the last 2 at p/jarra... :P
