Not very impressed by P.Knuckey - appeared to stop riding Grand Platz 50-75m from the post and missed 4th position by a 1/4 length.

Talking from my kick - missed the quartet because of him!

that volcanic causeway race was great example of some of the bum jocks there... tripping all over themselves for runs while VC plugs away up front

whats the point of them putting up $1000-1. So they can win $5?

whats the point of the horse running in a grade 15 lengths above its ability is more the question

ps - and i reckon some bookies would knock down grandmothers to win an easy $5 :P

:) ..And pull out their false teeth to hock.

test the angels - $4place, thank you!

Good odds particularly as it has sat on about $5.5 the win for the last three hours on the tote.

If Big Josh draws a gate he will be a big Derby chance heading forward i thought it was a great run the winner Veracious was ridden a treat by Carbs Tenby Friar was a Derby trial also to watch

Hartleys Hangover run was also massive sat last on a day that suited on pace the quickest 600m beaten just over a length in his first race start upto 1200m with a gate next start Karrakatta looking the goods

Was I watching the races or the trots at Ascot today? Every winner from on the pace. Track bias I presume.

.....and there was a headwind
Whoever prepared that track has some explaining to do. Racing was patently unfair yesterday.

Makes the run of The Tenby Friar amazing. He's the Derby winner I think (assuming PG misses)

favorites for the gimrick and karakatta then? In Edens Honour was a bit of a flop for an early favorite

I thought Big Josh fought on well after doing a fair bit of work early

Big Josh just needs a gate and he will be breaking his maiden status
  • Greg Hooper struggling - surely some winners to flow soon

Big Wes got up a nice best bet

Sacred Crown - bar plates on, but wouldnt be running if it wasnt near 100%, will also be hard to hold out

I heard this morning it has a foot abcess, hence the below par run - and the bar shoes.
If you see bar shoes go on, more times than not you will be in front by steering clear.

bennys halo, karrakata only of course and night war, single spice , western fever will all be up there for both, if they are nomed for both.
  • darkshinesdarkshines    2,837 posts
2yos are a very even lot this year IMO. Apart from Night War's big win, you could throw 2-3L over about 12 of them.

Barriers/transit/bias will probably decide the winner.

Agreed about the barriers, two with terrible barriers have been internationalist who has had to work hard early to get across to lead and in edens honour who if can get the right run sizzled home in just over 32 for the last 600 in one race.
