Gee thats a big call Della, the depth in some of those earlier Bolton Sprints has been sensational, apart from the top two, the field falls away to up and comers and horses that are yet to go to the next level. Time will tell.

Isn't there a 60kg max on stakes races now?

Interesting stat for this race. No winner started longer than $10 since 1994. Looks likely to be a fairly open race for mine.

I really wouldn't be suprised to see this being a Jimmy Taylor quinella with prince & black in time.

Black in time will run a good race. she came within arms reach of some damn good horses last prep and was unlucky not to win.

Well this race should test the "weight is largely insignificant" theory out, as I can't see Megatic winning with that weight against a field of this quality.
Barriers certainly help him though with most of the main chances drawn poorly, except Black In Time..... 8)
I won't be leaving London, Escadaire or Oroya Gold out of my quaddie.

He got beat an eyelash by basically same horses and same weight conditions last year?????

Should get a reasonable run from the barrier too, but i'll be betting against him....

Im a Megatic man, interesting to see Sporting Fella 1st up after 518 days
Certainly knows how to win, would be an amazing training feat & a boilover too i suppose , may toss a few $$ at it for old time sake
  • If Oroya Gold gets out to around $20 I will certainly be having something on - liked its run at Northam and looks the sort of race it will be flying home in

Agree - Megatic very hard to beat tho

Megatic hasn't backed up and won two in a row since it was a 2yo.

Promised so much and obviously has had problems. Hopefully it can still go on with it.

By the way why is La Forza in this race? I can equate that to me starting in the Stawell Gift!!!
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
La Forza is a genuine 500/1 shot. Wonder if any of the bookies will get close to that today?

    Couldn't agree more.

I can't understand how the horse is allowed to race in this event. The only thing it could possibly achieve in this race is to make a nuisance of itself to a runner with a chance.

I'll put me hand up and say I backed it last start in something a furlong weaker . . . and it was disgusting. Interestingly is a half to Natural Destiny.
