The Other Perth Cup Day Preview by TMP

West Australian Racing
It has been a great carnival in my opinion; few unwanted surprises (like Avidis).
The winners have all been a credit to their trainers and the riding has mostly given no surprises.
One of the real good ones has been S. McGruddy; some great rides were seen.
Anyway, here are my thoughts re Sat.

R/1Will TT be winning with the fave (like he used to with The River)? I will be watching with great interest. J Noske on ; replacing Azza; recently a change from JN to SG from memory on Thisaway gave a big change!

R/2 Now CP replaces JN in this race on the TT runner Action Figure.
As my Bro said, the fave has been dominant in his last two; stable in hot form (never better). The hattrick should be on!

R/3 This lot keep stepping up each week; so I will go with fave. As I have said before, I love a good Statue of Liberty.

R/4 Bon Signore looks interesting here at 80's. The trainer keeps finding value in his winners. The rider has been known to find the best in this horse.

R/5 Gee Boss here for me; his old form with fast times and great sectionals is stunning. I would love to see him jump and run; but if he ends up on the back of the Misty mare he still can win. The rider is a big big plus too.

R/6 It is hard to see them beating Fontainebleu again. I was on Lucky Roar last time; at least the early good place odds softened the blow.

R/7 Surely this is PH's win for the carnival; should lead and not be run down over the1100m.

R/8 And now......yes it the 2019 PC.
Me and my Bro have been barking Action as has been Falc. I just hope he can produce that dominant Derby win last year.
I have had a saver on Gatting; great horse and great trainer; the owners deserve every dollar of prizemoney!
Looking wider, it will be interesting as to what Prying Tom and Elegant Blast do in the betting as they both look like 2400m type horses.
As stated on the forum Perfect Jewel is the forgoten one; so lightly raced; potential unknown in general and over this distance.

R/9 I do not undrstand how the topweight is 14's here. The well named stablemate is in this (you can track down the film on Youtube).
I don't like the fave afrer such a space from his past wins as a youngster (lots of questions here).
I will go with Princess Zelda here; maybe a deseved win for the trainer after the defeat in the last race a week ago. The riding engagement is good; maybe a Bunbury connection here.

Well, that is it for what really feels like a years punting.
I am looking for a place to lie down; but with great MR Cabernet and great Aussie cheese, I will be back next week, I believe.
