Is Purple Muse making the trip ??
  • ChelseaChelsea    1,369 posts
    Great start to the trip.
Apparently, the trip took close on 12 hours due to malfunction within the plane, had to return to Melbourne after 1.5 hours, then had to wait for a plane from Tasmania .

Sadler is one great trainer - after all he was the real trainer of Efficient when it won the Cup - don't think he has been to Perth since Pressman's Choice came in the early 90s

there is only 1 trainer at Williams stables, that is Lloyd. Sadlier was like everyone else, do what your told
  • thefalconthefalcon    20,471 posts
isn't lloyd a bit old for so much hands on?
doesn't the "man with china teeth" call the shots here?
  • raconteurraconteur    610 posts
yeah probably correct P_B but John Sadler isin himself a great money trainer and his filly will just simply win the Oaks.

She has already won over the distance in better company.. In saying that the plane flight over can have some undesirable side effects.

I just couldn't be confident backing her at those odds
There is a few to many cons..

Disgrace of a race ,no bet for me

I think they are an average lot. Moreish is the danger, but she was $26 two starts ago?
The fave is entitled to be that price but carries the concerns that all carry when they travel. She can dictate too which makes her harder to beat

hope the fav wins cos none of those others is worthy of $150k for a win.. And as an owner i wish all owners the best of luck...just that they are not worthy of winning an Oaks worth $150k!!! (:|

I actually hope Pants on Friar wins...at least with only 3 runs under its belt we can all say we didn't know what it's potential was

Think Moreish just wins, relaxes and has a good turn of foot, 2400 m races are won usually not by the best horse but the best stayer

You guys are all missing the point. The Oaks is never about who is in the race, it's about the people who turn up to watch the race. Then there's me, I turn up to watch the people who are watching the race.

Ive just backed Pants on Friar at $101. Saw its run the other day and said get on that next start. I'd rather have a small bet on a 100 dollar shot than anything else in this race. Good mate of mine is on Moreish at 60s

  • RIORIO    14,902 posts
okay, i'd be a broken man if it came in now and i didn't put a dollar or two on....just placed a maximum stakes bet on it, that shoud be the kiss of death it needs!!!!

Between Moreish and your own beast bomber, he could be in for a good collect

By the way, my 10 each way on Pants on Friar consists of 5 x $2 each way bets, as apparently the max was $4!

Tip to get more on when you are limited by max.

Try and find a good thing and add the bet through a multi.

Eg. add Black Caviar (or similar) to the bet that was limited and you should be able to have a decent bet.

Always a risk the good thing gets rolled but bypasses the limits on the single bet.

Really :O I'll try to tone it down in the future :^o i failed last time it was bought to my attention, but seeing as it is a repeat request and i am a repeat offender i'll suspend myself from the site for a week next time i do it...........

As put on the other thread consider Scarletini a huge lay of the day cant believe the price they are betting and expect a number of these to run her over Moreish to lead the charge.

lot of horses in the oaks running around for big bucks and have never won a race , shocking field and shows where the imbalance is regarding the money for juveniles and older horses .
