Here is an article from RVL launching "The biggest racing fan", featuring Punting Patto:

Racing Victoria has embarked on a search to find Racing?s Biggest Fan as part of the revamped 2011 Melbourne Festival of Racing which was officially launched Monday in Melbourne?s City Square.
Racing fans nationwide are being asked to show their unique love of the sport throughout the Festival which commences this Saturday, 12 February at Caulfield and runs until Friday night, 25 March at Moonee Valley.

The person judged Racing's Biggest Fan will receive the trip-of-a-lifetime to the famous Hong Kong International Raceday in December 2011. The Ambassador Travel package for two is valued at $6500, plus the winner will pocket a $1000 TAB betting voucher.

The promotion, which is supported by SEN and the TAB, will see four weekly finalists drawn, each winning a Live Lounge Room VIP hospitality experience for themselves and 10 friends at a major Festival raceday with food, beverages and a $500 TAB betting voucher.

The Live Lounge Room, which will host a finalist at Caulfield (26 February), Pakenham (4 March), Flemington (12 March) and Moonee Valley (18 March), was unveiled at today's official launch and the first entrant, YouTube sensation ?Punting Patto?, was interviewed.

?We want to find Racing's Biggest Fan during this year's Melbourne Festival of Racing and we'll be rewarding them handsomely for their passion and commitment to the sport,? RV's General Manager of Marketing, Stuart Laing, said.

?We're looking for those people who are mad for racing. People who have named their child in honour of greats like Bart, Gai or Ollie, or perhaps got a tattoo of Makybe Diva or their favourite horse after a big win on the punt.

?We want the fans to share their passion for racing and experiences at the races using anything from banners to photographs, video and social media. As long as it's legal and in good taste then you're in with a shot.?

The race to be crowned Racing's Biggest Fan has now officially begun with entries being taken at http://www.4seasons1000reasons.com.au/.

The overall winner, which will be announced at Moonee Valley on 25 March, will come from the four weekly finalists who will be judged on both their entry and their day in the Live Lounge Room. A panel of experts and public vote will determine Racing's Biggest Fan.

The weekly finalists will be announced each Friday afternoon from 18 February on SEN's Harf Time program with Daniel Harford.

Seriously Diva are you actively trying to turn people off your website.
If you secured the weekend analysisof Ron Dufficy, Chris Beaumont, Mark Hunter, Danny Power etc that would be worth watching but Punting Patto you have to got be kidding, just another imbecile looking to extend their 15 minutes and there's more than enough of them around without contributing to that disease that plagues society.

I either take my racing too seriously or I'm getting too old (possibly both) but I found Punting Patto cringeworthy. Each to their own I suppose.

Why not get mad mark on while you're at it at least he would be remotely entertaining or Ace. Punting Patto is a first class moron and people for some bizarre reason want to reward these idiots.

Anyone remember Mad Mark tearing up 50 and 100 dollar notes not this plastic crap either, the old grey ghosts while ranting and raving at the track and in the old casino room at Ascot that was entertainment.

    Diva
Until WA racing eliminates some of the self serving scum and bottom feeders that administer and control, the sport I love and its participants with tactics that would make the Nazi's and the old Soviet Union communists blush, its hard to come up with any positives.

Many of these people wouldn't hold down a job anywhere else and yet theyre in charge of running and controlling a multi million dollar industry and as result they stop it from progressing.

Sometimes it good to be able to have a laugh in this industry! We sure do need it now and then!

I'm interested to see how the dartboard selection goes - it seemed to me the dart hit the top of the page, so not sure how he got his selection, but sometimes racing feels like a dartboard of chances!

You asked me why I dont have many positive things to say and Im explaining why, a classic example someone finally gets elected to the committee who genuinely wants to bring about positive change for the better and he's thwarted at every step by the chairman and his cohorts because change is not in their self interest because they might be held accountable for their past and present actions.

That isn't helping racing nor is getting the government offside regarding Belmont Park by the contemptuous manner with which they handled that.

Good luck getting any environmental and development approvals through and if anyone is naive enough to think that they will get through is in dreamland.

The only people that will make anything out of that deal is the developers and the lawyers that's if it even gets off the ground and that's a very big if.

So I apologise if I'm more than a little off topic but you wanted to know why I often don't have anything positive to say and this is why and like I said before we should expect and demand better from these people not just simply accept the mediocrity that exists now and in the past.

Unbelievable that everyone is having a whinge about this. Nobody can take a joke, god forbid that there is humour on a website  With lets elope around we would need 10 of this videos hourly to bring the system into equilibrium.

Anyway, it is definitely positive for the site, patto seems to get quite a lot of publicity and it should bring more people who are interested with WA racing to the site which is always a good thing.

    Don't Hate guys.

He is good Patto. Quality bloke. He didn't use to be as wacky when he first started out. Not sure why he changed tact there, but anyway, good character. The old Patto was better than the new one we have.
