Just starting a thread re the competition that will start in a few weeks.
Any queries, questions or issues with registration, just post any comments here.

Also, as we go along, any trash talk to try and "nerve work" your competition, also post here!

Once we get our required number of registrations, we'll announce a start date (should be about 2 weeks away). We are also de-bugging the software so it runs smoothly.

conspiracy alert. i'll just have to kick the sh@t out of everyone in 2011 then.

The trash talk has started already McGinty!

Just a couple of queries i have had via email:

    1. The comp will start in a couple of weeks. We will advise of the exact date, it depends on registrations.

    2. The comp will be tipping on saturdays only. All that is required is for you to check a box for one horse per race for 8 races.....it will hardly be time consuming.

    3. There will be live score updates during the day so you can come back to the tipping page and check where you stand in your particular head to head.

    4. We are encouraging as many of the media guys to get involved as possible.

One other thing, I would encourage people to use their real names if possible.

Its always better to see who you are up against. Not compulsory however.

will you be able to view everyones selections, or only the person who you are head to head with?
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
I think they are going to be private. However you will be able to see scoring race by race by going to the standings page.

It's probably better if the selections are known after closing time so everyone knows it's above board. Just my opinion but I also think it's better to know who has what so you can have more fun death riding your opponent's selection
Also gives us a chance to have a saver by backing our opponent's selections 8)

if you cant be any real perth racing celebrities. im a jounalist at the kalgoorlie miner and soon to be racing reporter there so i could fill the media void haha. although you would have to be seriously struggling for big names or any names whatsoever haha

Youre it so far Vlahs....the draw card! Thanks for coming aboard.
These blokes so far have signaled their intention to compete:
Rob Edwards, Peter Bell, Richie Bell, David Shortte, Greg Hooper, Matty Nowland, Josh Rodder, the one and only Alex Vlahos from the Kalgoorlie Miner.
Also hoping for confirmation from Wes Cameron, Darren McAullay and hopefully some of the other racing writers from The West.

I think allowing the tips to be seen is a good idea, especially so you can death ride your oponents tips. However, without re-inventing the wheel, that might be a bit difficult with the software we have right now.
However, when we go through our development phase, I think this will be entirely possible. Maybe with UTC2.
